DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 28, 2008) — Knowledge is power. Sustainable Land Development International (SLDI) is helping the industry deliver it to the decision-makers in the industry as it launches the SLDI Knowledge Project™ - an industry-wide information portal open to the land-development community. Accessible via the Internet, this latest SLDI innovation will enable industry professionals to access, as well as collectively contribute concepts, ideas, technologies and practices into a dynamic, virtual encyclopedia focused on sustainable land development.
“The appropriate knowledge and technologies must rapidly reach all those who need them. That is a weighty, but inspiring challenge – one in which SLDI is now beginning to take head on for our industry,” said Terry Mock, Executive Director of SLDI.
Web-based, Wiki technology enables users throughout the world to edit content of a web page, and provides them the opportunity to contribute, reference, and network within this system. To contribute to and reference the SLDI Knowledge Project, go to www.SLDIKnowledgeProject.com.
As a result of increased environmental awareness and regulations affecting the development industry, access to up-to-date and accurate information has become increasingly important. With the launch of the SLDI Knowledge Project, industry professionals can leverage an organized, comprehensive and dynamic central repository of knowledge. In the process, they will become more informed about a wide range of important issues, challenges and solutions.
